point nepean national park

I'm glad I had the chance to do some outdoor shooting again. It's been a while and it feels like a very long time.

Went to Point Nepean National Park with some friends today. It's at Seaford, Mornington Peninsula. We went even thought the forecast said it was going to be really bad, thunderstorm.

When we got there, the weather wasn't that good, but it wasn't raining so that's a relief.

Anyway I had fun shooting with my D300, my Holda and the Polaroids (including the latest Fuji Instax 500).

I will now complain about my Fuji Polaroid cameras. I think I'd have to put some kind of tape in front of where the body opens (to insert the film). I got back from today's trip only to find out that both of them, inside my bag, somehow managed to open their bodies and made the film obsolete (especially the huge Instax 500). I had two left in that body and when I opened my bag, those two weren't usable anymore. The Mini Instax was OK. It was open, but the film was OK, but now I don't know how much exposures I actually have left in there.

I will tape both of them as punishment (and a way to conserve the precious polaroid films).

Got myself a few more toys.

On the very left is the Fuji Instax Mini 7S.

It's a polaroid camera which uses polaroid films with the size of a credit card. A friend's got a spare and I bought it off her. There was no other colour. That's why it's pink. Got it with thirteen rolls of film.

Second from the left is a Polaroid 600 One Step.

Uses Polaroid 600 films. It was quite hard to find the film for this one since I got it off eBay. Finally got it from one of the camera shops in the city. The girl told me that this was the last batch of the Polaroid 600 film IN THE WORLD!!! I stocked on quite a bit of the film. They'll expire this coming August. After that, then what? We'll see.

Second from the right is the 35mm Holga.

I've posted about it before. It currently holds a roll of black & white film. I still have about thirty shots to go before I can develop it.

On the very right is the Holga.

Lent for an indefinite amount of time by a friend. I'll try to get film for it from another friend who's got a spare.

The Holga 35mm I ordered arrived today.

It's plastic, it's antique, it's fantastic.

Gotta go buy some films now.

Nikon D300 firmware update

Have you updated your D300's firmware?

Just in case you're like me (ignorant) and doesn't know that Nikon has released an update for the D300 firmware, well it's available now. It's version 1.10 both for firmwares A and B.

Download it here (Windows users).

The thing that I'm quite pleased about this update is that I can now attach my copyright information into the photos themselves instead of just attaching a comment like what I could only do before this update.
